Why does the Turnverein require an annual membership?

Our Denver Turnverein receives financial benefit each year for having an association with the American Turners organizaton. The most significant being 90% reduction in our property taxes and a special liquor license for our facility.

Our tax designation only allows us to make a total annual $25,000 on non-membership income. As our annual facility cost is well over $400,000, continuing to offer member and non-member rates as in previous years was unsustainable for maintaining our tax compliance.
