Retirement Plan Donations
Naming the Denver Turnverein as a beneficiary of retirement funds such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) can be an effective method to support the community while minimizing tax penalties. People aged 70½ or older can utilize the IRA qualified charitable distribution to transfer up to $100,000 of their required minimum distribution from an IRA to a qualified charity without the distribution being counted as taxable income. Contact your advisor or an expert for more details on how to donate this way.
Gifts of Stock or Securities
Donate appreciated assets and potentially receive tax benefits. If you have a strong investment portfolio, donating stock can be an efficient way to give. This is particularly useful if you plan to sell shares to fund your donation. The Denver Turnverein accepts both designated and undesignated gifts.
